2014 Season Message
Dear Steelers Family Past/Present/Future,

On behalf of the new Board of Directors, we would like to update everyone on the changes being made and new initiatives we are implementing for the 2014 Football and Cheer season. In response to the concerns voiced by the community at the end of a disappointing season last year, the Board has been completely revamped and we are excited to rebuild our organization and “Return to the Steeler Winning Tradition”. We know safety is a big concern for all families and our top priority. To address the concern we are proud to announce that we are currently working to become a NFL Heads Up Football member. We will be implementing and teaching a safer way to tackle and protect our players from concussion.

In addition, we have made coach selection and training a priority. In the next month, we will be looking for qualified coaches and implementing a more stringent selection process. With support from local High School Coaching staff, we will be conducting coaching clinics to ensure we provide only the best quality instruction and experience for our players. We have plans for multiple community events to better foster community involvement and participation over the next few months. You can look forward to more information to be released late this month concerning our Community Kick Off/Steeler Open House.

There are always opportunities to help out and we are always open to input and new ideas. Our next general membership meeting is February 19, 2014 at 6:30 PM at the Southern Community Center. Please come out and let your voice be heard!

We know that you have plenty of options and thank you for your loyalty and support as we “Return to the Steeler Winning Tradition”. We are confident, with everyone’s help and the changes being made, we will have a successful 2014 season.
